I love this place so much. I ate here once before with friends and enjoyed the ramen. Saturday I went for a sushi making class, (private event). Woo wee the fish was so fresh and melt in your mouth. I wish I could have taken some avocados home because they were so good. Homemade eel sauce, just good. Get up there Thursday, Friday, or Saturday when Gabe is making sushi so you can taste one of his roles and his self made eel sauce! He made me a protein role.

I’ve been underwhelmed with the noodle game in North County but Wu Lan is a winner! We came in because “May Grey” made me want a hot steaming bowl of noodles. They have a great selection of ramen as well as a wonderful selection of sushi. We had the black knight ramen which had a very thick and savory tonkatsu broth with black garlic oil and extra garlic on top. The veggies included wood ear mushroom and some seaweed. A seasoned egg was extra but totally worth it. The center was perfectly jammy and the white was well seasoned. My husband had the Mega pig which came in a huge bowl. The portion has 6 pieces of chasu in it, an egg, bamboo shoots, and wood ear mushrooms. It was hot, fresh, and tasty! We also ordered the sashimi - which for 15 came as a very generous portion of 6 pieces of hamachi (you get to choose). There was a cute little side of poke that came in the plate which was spicy and well seasoned. The fish quality as well as everything else that we had was very high quality. We also ordered a pitcher of Sapporo for 16 - I could see us coming back to try all the yummy fried appetizers with a few pitchers and friends! The staff was absolutely delightful and the lovely woman who took our order was playing a cozy, light hearted island mix. This is the highest quality ramen / sushi that we have had in North County - and rivals our favorites from San Francisco / San Jose / Convoy. We can’t wait to come back to the amazing food, inviting atmosphere, and great prices!

Fantastic miso hot ramen with tender pork and a proper egg. I don't love having to pay and tip first because it always seems to bite me but my fears were unfounded and the food was fantastic. I just have to accept that payment first is probably a required defensive tactic in the city. Much love to this awesome ramen house.

Very good food and if paying with cash, it's a 10% discount so the prices are reasonable. They also have happy hour specials during the week. My daughter loved the tofu bun. The pork bun was a little too fatty for me. The firecracker shrimp were absolutely delicious and filling, alone. We also had the octopus balls, which were very similar to mash potatoes balls, but extremely enjoyable. The staff also recommended some orders for next time. We will definitely come back. I also love the atmosphere and decorations.

Love this ramen spot! It is located in an unassuming little strip mall next to a barber shop, gym, in n out and a CVS. This spot has really cute Studio Ghibli art and different ramens (currently charging an extra 1.50 for soft boiled eggs that come in it) and their broth is great. It can get a little crowded ordering at the counter but the food does not disappoint. They serve sushi from a limited menu on Friday, Saturday and Sunday and have nice happy hour specials on their appetizers too!

Hidden gem!!!! This place is a must try! If you are looking for outstanding prices, along with amazing food, stop searching because this place is for you! The sushi is phenomenal! The Ramen is banging! The appetizers are delicious! The service is matchless!! We loved the experience in this beautiful little restaurant! Don't sleep on the firecracker shrimp and deep-fried oysters!!! What sealed the 5 stars for me was the owner coming to my table and checking for satisfaction! Jeannie, thank you so much for the great execution of service and beautiful plates! This place is a whole vibe! My new favorite spot in Oceanside!!

I've been to Wu Lan maybe a total of 10 times plus a few delivery orders but our last visit was over two years ago. At that time it seemed the pandemic had affected the quality and portion sizes negatively so we stayed away for a while. I'm happy to say we visited again yesterday for happy hour and they are as good as they ever were. Prices are a little higher. In 2018, a big bowl of ramen was 10.50. Fast forward to 2023 and they are now 14.75, using newer bowls that are ultimately smaller than the originals. This unfortunately is the effect that comes with inflation and higher wages. Still, the broth and ingredients were outstanding. We really enjoyed our ramen, and I tried the Black Knight for the first time and loved it (I usually get the "hot" ramens). Happy hour prices are still great. 3 for Asahi/Sapporo and 5 for a hot sake which was filled to the top of the sake tokkuri bottle. Can't beat that really. Also, if you pay cash there's a 10% discount on the entire bill, so BRING CASH FOLKS. Service was great. All smiles. The music was lively on a Friday night and honestly it was pretty packed. They seem to be doing pretty good and I'm glad we were able to come back and try them again.
